One of the main advantages of paint is its capacity to transform any everyday item into a decorative element in an easy, quick and inexpensive way. On this occasion, we are going to focus on radiators and how to paint them in order to integrate them in your home decoration.
We have already mentioned how you can avoid spending much money in the renovation of your home. For example, we have suggested you giving your kitchen cupboards a new makeover with our WATER-BASED ENAMEL MACY, or breathing new life to your worn furniture with our CHALK-PAINT MACY.
Radiators are our main concern in today’s blog. These objects are usual at most homes and they are deprived of any aesthetical value in most cases. We often dream with the idea of changing them to a different place, imagine a space without radiators, or even cover them.
METAL-EFFECT SYNTHETIC ENAMEL
To avoid spoiling your home decoration with the presence of a radiator, at PINTURAS MACY we suggest painting it with our METAL-EFFECT SYNTHETIC ENAMEL.
Available in more than 20 colors, this product enjoys excellent properties of application, brushability, leveling and drying. It is formulated form alkyd resins and metallized pigments to provide highly professional decorative results.
Although it can be applied on any kind of surface, we will explain its application on iron or steel. These are the steps to follow:
1. Clean and dry the surface.
2. Apply a first coat of SYNTHETIC PRIMER MACY. We recommend you to choose a similar hue to the finish. You can employ our MACY DYES for it.
3. Once dried, apply one or two coats of METAL-EFFECT SYNTHETIC ENAMEL. Coats shouldn’t be too large to get a better finish, faster drying and greater hardness.
Once ready to paint your radiators, make sure the surface is properly sealed. The results will be smooth and even.
For a gloss finish, apply our SYNTHETIC VARNISH or WATER-BASED VARNISH, which will provide in addition protection and a stronger decorative effect.
